About Us

Meet the co-owners of Jack’s Hardware and Urban Farm Supply! We’re  Justin and Nancy – and we are here to help our community grow sustainably. We are two home-grown Minneapolis residents that have built a life together dedicated to creating a sustainable, equitable, and thriving local community.  We’ve lived in South Minneapolis for many years where we share a  sustainable urban homestead with our three sons and two dogs. Together we bring decades of experience in farming, construction, sustainability, and beyond and are here to bring that experience to the community through Jack’s Hardware and Farm Supply!

Justin

Discovering his passion for sustainable agriculture through his work in the restaurant industry, Justin has spent decades developing skills and working toward being a part of a sustainable farming community. His knowledge of sustainable farming techniques comes from his extensive experience and studies through the Farm Beginnings program with the Land Stewardship Project and The Urban Farming Program through The Permaculture Research Institute (cold weather). As co-founder of Jack Dog Farms in South Minneapolis, Justin has proven that urban farming is not only possible in Minneapolis but sustainable, even when feeding a whole neighborhood.

Nancy

Nancy St. Germaine is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Ojibwe, respected realtor and owner of Raven Construction Inc. With over 20 years of experience in the construction and non-profit sector Nancy knows how to mobilize her community for the better. From teaching Earth Building in Portland, OR to serve as a consultant to the Lake Street Council helping businesses damaged by the 2020 uprising connect with minority-owned firms, Nancy remains vigilant in her commitment to fostering a strong, sustainable community.
